The San Juan Islands offer a wide variety of activities and lots of them can be enjoyed year round. Many of the "things to do" are marine oriented including boating, kayaking, whale watching and diving. There are great parks and beaches to explore on foot, and bicycles and mopeds are popular in the summertime. We have movie theatres, live theatre with music and play, and local museums. The San Juan County fair takes place every year in August and is a always well attended by locals and visitors alike. Several local service organizations are actively involved in our island communities and anybody that enjoys volunteer work will find many different opportunities to choose from.
