Getting to the San Juan Islands is an exciting adventure, whatever the mode of transportation is. Departing from Anacortes, your ride on the Washington State Ferries is a scenic treat as you meander through the islands, leaving mainland freeways and traffic behind. The ferry services Lopez, Shaw, Orcas and San Juan Islands. Your journey will take you past Cypress, Decatur, Blakely Islands and chances are you will see eagles, sea birds, and marine life along the way.
Arriving by airplane or seaplane is incredibly beautiful as you view miles of shoreline and diverse island scenery below, the colors of the ocean, and the mountains on the horizon. Many islanders travel to the mainland in their own planes or boats - what a way to commute!
